I LOVE YOU, DENNIS BERGKAMP
One of Bunsen Media's biggest ventures to date, with a fully constructed set (Overseen by talented IADT trained production designer, Conor Neville) a crew and cast of 16 people, and backed by the score of brilliant English music act BILLY PILGRIM WITH THE HEARTSEASE KID, who flew over just to film for their music video. I love you, Dennis Bergkamp is a stylish, action packed and grippingly layered production featuring actors, musicians and to keep an eye on in the near future. (Especially in the new NETFLIX series NIGHTFLYER
Commissioned by the talented Irish rap duo NEOMADiC, TiCKER is a colourfully dark and hyper stylised visual perfectly fitting the mellow acid rap styling of the song it compliments.
ON THE ROAD
Shot in an makeshift milk bath, in a warehouse in the middle of one ofIrelands worst storms in a decade. On The Road was as arduous to shoot as life on the road is indeed. However that didn't stop Karl and friend and msuician Silent Ghost, from creating an avant-garde and strikingly visual production one bit.
MELT: Fashion Collective
MELT is a Belfast based collaborative fashion collective representing and giving a platform to emerging young Designers. After filming the first event as a favour for a friend, Karl has been brought onto the team as the MELT official videographer due to the team's collective appreciation of the film he created. Take Me Home
Take Me Home is a personal project, concieved, written directed and shot by Karl.
Having set himself a challenge of writing, then creating a film within a day: Karl used his friend and travelling companion Cillian Morrison as well as multiple strangers as actors for the final product.
Directed and written by Brian McGuinness:
"In the midst of a country's debate about the rights and wrongs of abortion. One couple did not have a choice."
As well as aiding in location management, Moving On saw Karl take the role of director of photography. Taking inspiration from Kubrik as he was researching the director for his thesis at the time: Karl emulates much of the spacial appropriation of the likes of The Shining. Utilising the Samyang 35mm, 50mm and on occasion 24mm we see a varied contrast of compacted and wide imagery coupled with the use of shallow depth and focus pulls to demonstrate the distance between our leads: A man and woman stricken with grief burdened with a relationship that's on the rocks.
pREMIER hOUSE OPENING
A short corporate video Karl directed and shot for the Institute of Technology Tallaght commemorating the opening of their new building: Premier House: February 24th 2017.
This video coincides with a 14 minute counterpart video of minister Richard Bruton's speech also recorded by Karl.
